The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon officially made history in 2023 by achieving AIMS certification. Since then, the race has grown from strength to strength, with the 2025 edition welcoming more than 10,000 runners from more than 120 nationalities.

The eighth annual Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon will take place on Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th, 2026, inviting runners from around the world to #RaceThroughHistory at one of the most iconic locations on Earth: the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Egypt’s signature running event features a two-day race format, with the 5K race taking place on Friday, followed by the 10K and 21K Half Marathon races on Saturday. With multiple race distances available, runners of all levels can take part and RACE THROUGH 5,000 YEARS OF HISTORY!
DESTINATION
The Giza Plateau is the home of the Great Pyramids of Giza, world-renowned landmarks and among the best preserved structures remaining from Pharaonic times. The Pyramids Complex comprises the three main pyramids: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex and is attributed to Pharaoh Khafre.
The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon is proudly organised by The TriFactory, Egypt's leading participation sports event organiser, specialising in marathons and running races, endurance sports events, and obstacle course racing.
Since its founding in 2015, The TriFactory has built up a portfolio of sports events organised to the highest of international standards including the Somabay Endurance Festival,
El Gouna Half Marathon, Madinaty Half Marathon, Trailmaster Wadi Degla, Tough Mudder Egypt, and of course the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon.

100% authentic. 100% amazing. The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon takes you up close and personal to the last remaining Ancient Wonder of the World. Each distance features a one-lap race course that is timed using the MyLaps Timing System, the same system deployed at major sports events across the world, including the Olympic Games and the Boston Marathon.

Registration includes the full Race Pack, which features: an authentic PUMA race t-shirt, drawstring bag, access bracelet, race number with MYLAPS timing strip attached, on-course nutrition, access to the Giza Pyramids Complex, the required Tourism Police permit, and of course the premium finisher’s medal with the iconic words “I Raced Through History” stamped on the back.
All runners must pick up their Race Packs at the Official Race Expo during the days preceding the event.
